What is lip filler?
At True Beau we only use the two top brands Juvederm® and Restylane® which are both a specific formulation of non-animal sourced hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a complex sugar found naturally in our bodies which helps make your face look full, gives your skin elasticity and maintains water in your skin. Both fillers are completely biodegradable and as they both come from an all natural ingredient there is minimal risk of an allergic reaction.
What is the procedure?
Firstly we give you a topical local anaesthetic cream to help numb the area. All filler we use also contains lidnocaine which is a local anaesthetic to help lesson any pain from the procedure. These things will help with any discomfort but are unlikely to mask the sensation completely. The dermal filler is then injected using an ultra fine needle into the appropriate areas and massaged throughout the process to provide you with your perfect result.
Are there any side effects?
It is quite common for your lips to become quite swollen and bruised for a few days post treatment.
You may also notice some small bumps under your lips. These usually smooth out on their own within a week or two.
Full aftercare advice is given during your consultation.
How long do fillers last?
Your newly plump lips will normally last between 6-9 months although each person is different. Some will find it doesn't last the full 6 months due to fast metabolism or lifestyle factors such as smoking or excessive exercising.

Cheek Enhancement
What does dermal filler do?
Dermal filler plumps, enhances, lifts, contours and softens facial creases.
You may have a flatter cheekbone or have lost volume as you age or you may even just want more definition. Either way True Beau can restore or beautify your cheeks in a short procedure with instant results for a flattering and refreshed look.
How is it administered?
This is an almost painless procedure which means that we don't give you a topical anaesthetic although lidnocaine is contained in the dermal filler used to enhance your comfort. We use a long fine needle and inject the filler just above your cheekbone. The great thing about this treatment is that the results are instant. It's important to note though that your skin will settle over the following few days by which time the final results can be seen. Results can last up to 18 months.
Are there any side effects?
Possible side effects may include: redness, minor swelling, itching, tenderness around the injection site and potential lumps in the treated area. Full aftercare advice is given during your consultation.

Nasolabial folds/Marionette lines
How do you treat the lines?
Dermal filler injections give your face a fuller appearance and help smooth away lines. This treatment often works even better with a cheek enhancement treatment. A lift from above and a push from below help achieve even better results. This is because the loss or slippage of fat in the cheek is usually the cause of deeper nasolabial folds so combining the treatments we are treating the cause not just the symptom.
How long does it last?
Results are immediate. It is important to note though that your skin will settle over the following few days, you'll then see the full results in its entirety. Normally this procedure can last between 12-18 months although this time can vary depending on metabolism and lifestyle factors.

Muscle Relaxing Treatment
What is Botox?
Wrinkles are part of the aging process which reduces elasticity and volume in your skin making wrinkles more pronounced.
Botox restricts the movement in your muscles which cause lines and wrinkles to appear in the first place. It is produced from a toxin derived from the bacterium clostridium botulinum. When injected under the skin it targets the muscles and temporarily restricts their movement. This in turn reduces the formation of lines and wrinkles and results in a smoother and more radiant look.
There is no downtime following this procedure and majority of patients can resume their normal activities immediately. Full advice and aftercare is given during your consultation.
When will I see results?
The full affect can take up to 2 weeks but results should be visible after 72 hours. A follow up appointment will be booked 10 days post treatment and a top up given if required which is included in the price.
Results from Botox generally last 3-4 months in initial stages of treatment. However over time you should need less treatments to maintain results.
Due to the nature of this treatment a consultation and prescription is required.
A £50 deposit is needed to secure appointment. This will be deducted from the treatment price.

Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)
How does it work?
In its simplest terms Botox works by telling your nerves to stop receiving messages from the brain and the ones linked to your sweat glands are very similar to those muscles that cause wrinkles. Hence why a Botox injection can stop your sweat glands being 'told' to sweat. Over the following months, new receptors regrow so the effects gradually wear off.
A series of tiny shallow injections (between 10-30) can stop the glands being active for 6-12 months.
Your armpits aren't particularly sensitive so pain is minimal.
Before this treatment you will need to discuss your condition with our Doctor. This is because your sweating may also be caused by an undiagnosed medical condition so a full assessment is given before a prescription is issued.
